Child & Adolescent

Spectra Center’s Child & Adolescent (C&A) Program embraces our “Work hard, play hard” value. Children begin to explore the importance of hard work by establishing successful routines and learning how to balance them with rewarding opportunities for social activities and leisure time. With a focus of setting appropriate behavioral expectations and teaching independence, the C&A Program welcomes our school-aged learners to set aside their backpacks and join their peers as they engage in traditional after-school activities. Time in the program mimics structured schedules of a home environment, to include snack routines, daily chores, and some rewarding leisure activities with friends. Upon enrolling in the program, an assessment, including vital parent input, is completed for each child so that an individualized treatment plan may be created to guide therapeutic goals and timelines. A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will complete the assessment and a team of Therapeutic Instructors (TIs) will provide treatment services.

Program Hours

Spectra’s C&A Program serves children ages 7-17 years. Service hours are Monday through Thursday from 3:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. Each child’s and family’s needs are unique and continuously evolving; therefore, from the first assessment and throughout treatment, Spectra will work with parents to help build an individualized therapy plan for every child.

Why Spectra?

Why Spectra?: Spectra’s Child & Adolescent Program is engaging and fun, offering an opportunity for learners to work through challenging maladaptive behaviors which may otherwise impede independence in daily living skills and social opportunities with the support of a one-on-one Therapeutic Instructor. Spectra’s naturalistic teaching environment and use of ABA principles provides a powerful opportunity for children to work on individual skills while in a group setting and apply their new skills to home, school, and community environments.
